Doing things for a great cause

My gorgeous cousin Sophie has just completed her Run for Arthritis, where she ran 30km, climbing Mt. Kaukau in Khandallah then through the Northern Walkway, followed by getting up to the Brooklyn Windmill and finishing on a high at Mt. Victoria. All this was done in four and a half hours!

Our Nanna, my sister and Sophie's dad all suffer from arthritis, so for her this was a cause close to her heart - and ours! Sophie's raised over $2500 so far - you can check out her donation page here!

She also made it in the Hawkes Bay Today newspaper as she's so inspiring! 

Well done lovey, I'm sooo proud!

Dinovember

After seeing this article about a family who made their children's dinosaurs come to life, a work friend and I were sold on the idea to do this with my kids! 

We've got one week left in November, which equals one more week of fun and my kids running into the class saying "ohhh nooo! Dinosaurs naughty!"

These are the tricks our dinosaurs got up to so far...

The dinosaurs got into the train tracks!

Those naughty dinosaurs covered the class in toilet paper...

...and they left little droppings!!!

The dinosaurs abseiled down the hankies trying to attack the pet snails!

New onesies

I love my new onesie. I'd wear it 24/7 if I could!

Cat's who like to hide in boxes

I just love Keith's attempt to fit into the lid of trivial pursuit! A lil bit of overhang there buddy!

The Keith Files

I had the pleasure of looking after this gorgeous cat for the last two weeks. Nearly each day I'd send a photo to his lovely owners to prove that I 

a) was looking after him

b) that he was still alive

c) he was all still fat and cute. 

Keith is a lovely cat, a bit timid and shy at times, and warms up familiar bodies appropriately. He likes long walks on the beach, his favourite cat meat is salmon flavour, and he shits rivers if you give him too many cat biscuits. 

Keith will come hurtling in your direction when he hears his pack of Dreamies being rustled, he'll meow until his bowl is full and he'll walk along you numerous times until you've stopped patting him and he's comfy.

This week I'm loving...

Positivity

I'm not even sure if it's a word, but it is now. Last week I was super stressed out due to an upcoming observation that I was to have at work. Well, the stress had a great outcome and I got an Outstanding on my observation! I guess hard work does actually pay off!!

New Clothes

I received a gift card for a shop in the UK called ZARA for Christmas, and bought these awesome trousers! I'm not a 'trouser wearer' and tend to stick to dresses and skirts, so I feel a bit outrageous. But these are heaps choice and I totally love them!!

I've been looking after this 'little' fluffy thing for the past week and have one more week of quality time until my cousins come back home!

Rooster's off to see the world

I'm a big Eric Carle fan. I found this book at work which is a great and incorporates basic counting into the story. Over the week we've been recreating the animals from the book for a display and point of reference for counting! Here's what we came up with, they're not quite finished but I'm pretty pleased!

A taste of home

We ventured out to the New Zealand shop last weekend! Me and Rach were in heaven! There were so many treats to be bought! However, I was a little disappointed to realise some favourites were actually Australian. That didn't stop me though!

Tasty lunches

There's an amazing little cafe down the road from work called Temptations. There boxes of deliciousness are really just that little bit too tempting! Not only is their food super healthy, there's a whole bunch of dairy free stuff!
