Things I'm Loving!

This week I'm loving...

Butterflies
I'm a pretty big butterfly fan, especially of Monarch butterflies! So it was awesome to have some caterpillars delivered to our class in a wee jar, with some special food, and when they went into a chrysalis, we transferred them to a net and then watched them hatch sometime later! Tomorrow is the day we'll go for a walk with them and set them free into the wild!

This little fatty
Oh Keith, he's just such a flirt!

Deliciousness
I've been making a real effort to be healthy lately. Like going for a run. And this girl just does not run. But it's been working, I've been feeling great, and have been rewarding myself with delicious, healthy, home cooked meals!

Beanstalks
In 10 days, our class beanstalks have sky rocketed! They're nearly touching the roof! And have just started to flower!! Fingers crossed for some beans!!!

The final countdown
Well it is the first countdown, but certainly won't be the last of my trips back to New Zealand! There's only 25 more sleeps until I hop on a plane, and 27 until I'm back in my lovely hometown, Wellington!

This weeks Turn-Up Song!
This song is perfect for summer! It's off Pitch Perfect and just just a delicious song! Here's Open Season by High Highs

Grateful Monday - 24.06.13

Today I'm grateful for...

- It being the first day of me migraine free in a week. Fingers crossed it stays that way!

- Knowing that this time, on the 24th of July, I'll be back in my hometown, with my family, for the first time in over 2 years

Me and my two sisters at Christmas 2010 - our last Christmas altogether as a family!
- Going for a run. I did make myself, especially seen as how the idea is always great in my head but realistically doesn't always make it, and pushing myself just that little bit more brings such a choice feeling of achievement

- Watching caterpillars hatch out of their chrysalis' and also learning that chrysalis' and cocoons are two different things - one for caterpillars and one for moths!

We're going to have 5 caterpillars. I think I'll call them - Ronnie, Lassie, Gepetto, Alfalfa, and Bug, ,

Things I'm Loving!

This week I'm loving...

Pork Sammies
There's a wee 'market' down the road from my house each Saturday. There's an array of organic, homemade, delicious goodness to be bought; however, these pork sammies are definitely the best £4 you'll ever spend in your life.

Miss fix-it
So I lost my balance when I was standing on my bed, grabbed onto my blind, then this happened...

So I tied it up with wool in the interim...

And then on purchasing a new blind from Argos (keeping in mind that it was only £7 so I'm not actually that bothered), it turns out that the difference between inches and centimeters actually really does matter.

Massive egg moment

Tunisian Crochet

My mum mentioned Tunisian Crochet to me the other week when we were skyping, so then and there I bought a set of hooks off eBay for a measly £3! I tried it out last night and it's actually pretty simple! It's essentially a cross between knitting and crocheting! Pretty bon choice if you ask me!

'Tis the season...
For caterpillars at our school! We got them delivered in little pots that had special food at the bottom. There were 5 caterpillars, who merrily eat their food, wiggle on up to the top where they make the cocoon, and then it's up to an adult with extremely steady hands to transfer them into their net, where we'll be able to see them hatch! You give them sugar water on flowers and they eat that for a bit, and then you can release them back into the wild! Choice!

This week's clip

Oh my, this is soooo hilarious! A friend from work posted it onto my facebook the other day and it's absolute gold! Have a watch!

Things I'm Loving

The last month I've been loving...

Being able to wear sunglasses...
However, not loving that I broke two pairs in the space of 2 minutes.

Jack and the beanstalk
It was our topic last term and my kids' beanstalks are thriving! The one on the right is nearly 2 meters high!

Peppermint tea
This has got to be my favourite brand of mint tea. It's such a nice drink to have before I go to bed!

Spring has sprung
Aside from some ridiculous hay fever getting all up in my grill, I'm loving this 'sorbet spring ensemble'

The sky has it
My love for the sky only gets stronger. It's so unpredictable, amazing, strong, breath-taking. I LOVE IT!

Emptying the fridge
After realising I had 4 eggs left, some nearly off rocket, mushrooms and tomatoes, and some delicious chorizo, I made this bad boy. Dee-lish-us.

This song
I play it every day. Normally when I'm checking hearing aids/radio aids, but I'm totally in love with it! And the whole soundtrack from the musical film Once. I'm yet to watch it, and it's just been released as a musical in London, but if I'm going by their music, it's got to be good!

Falling Slowly - Glen Hansard and Markéta Irglová

And also...

there's only 39 sleeps until I'm back in NEW ZEALAND BABY! The excitement levels are getting higher and higher each day it gets closer! If only I didn't have to endure 27 hours of flying and could be there in a second!
