Recap of the last week!

I was lucky to be with some family in France for Christmas. We stayed in a small town near Viam, in the middle of no where, on a farm. It was bliss.

There were geese, chickens, sheep, roosters, and rabbits.

There was frost on Christmas morning.

We did extreme things like 4 wheel motor biking, canoeing, and climbing a tower that was 1000m above altitude.

And the best bit? (apart from the company..) Was the beauty.

We had a full cooked meal each night. Bangers and mash on Christmas eve, a sheep off their farm called Daniel for Christmas day, a turkey on boxing day, and the last night we had freshly caught trout. Talk about deliciousness!

I hope everyone had amazing days, however you celebrated it!

Wordful Wednesday - In Rememberance of...

My wonderful Granny.

I miss our trips to the $2 shop where you'd give us $4 to spend. It would take me and my sister an hour to choose 2 things, and we were lucky if one of them was 2 for $2!

I miss playing rummy with you and using lollies to bet.

I miss your lolly jar that we'd always raid, and the bottles of Budget $1 fizz that we'd happily drink.

I miss you letting us staying up WAY past our bed times to watch CSI, and the threat that if we told our parents we wouldn't be able to stay again (I'm sure they already knew!)

I miss your 'whummel' that no-one else knows how to make. Note: it's said wa-mill. It's basically loads of gelatine with flavoured stuff and pineapple rings on top - it melted in your mouth!

I miss your shortbread and pancakes that we'd eat every Sunday we visited you. I also miss your amazing potatoes that I've never had any where else.

I miss that I used to only eat YOUR soup - and no one elses. It was simply the best.

With all these 'misses', I love how you have filled my world with knowledge, love and kindness. Whether it be knowing Scottish-slang, knowing how to gamble from a young age, the tips that you gave me on getting rid of my pimples (putting your first pee of the day on a cotton bud and gently dabbing your spot - needless to say I have NEVER tried this!) or just simply the fact that you were secretly racist note: I dyed my hair quite dark one time, and my Granny told me that I looked like a Maori and had to dye it back HAHA!

I have been thinking of you today, on the day that marks the 4th year of your passing. It was a hectic 6 weeks, with a sick aunty and finishing 7th form, but I am glad I visited you at the hospital EVERY day.

I love and treasure all the times we spent together.

Always in our thoughts, forever in our hearts. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Weekend Fun

Sorry about the delay in posting... the photos will make up for it!

A fresh winter's day called for a walk in the park.

It may have been 5 degrees, but that didn't count as a factor when we were frolicking along beside the squirrels.

The pathway led us on an amazing journey.

The sun started its descent

And started setting on our journey home.

Things I'm Loving!

This week I'm loving...

This song. By far my new favourite.

I'm loving this sky. And lying on the concrete in 5 degrees with 10 children watching the clouds. It was fun. (other teachers thought I was MAD!)

I'm loving having an ACTUAL wardrobe. Not just a floordrobe, but a for real life wooden wardrobe!

I'm loving my Christmas jumper! I wore it today for my school's Christmas lunch, where the parents get to come in and have school dinners! Was so much fun!

I look like I've packed on the pounds, in actual fact, I haven't. It's just the amount of layers I have on!

I'm loving that there's only 8 days left of term before I break up for Christmas.

I'm loving Christmas cards. Keep 'em rolling!

I'm loving friendships. Loving and kind words from Meg, and loving but funny words from my friend Tara from back in New Zealand. She wrote on facebook to me - "I wanna get really drunk with you. I miss partying with you. I miss looking after you cos you drank too much. And I miss feeling like crap with you the next day. I... miss you.."

Things I'm Loving!

This week I'm loving THIS BEING MY 100TH POST! YIPPEE! 100 posts in 6 months (nearly exactly).... A bit addicted?

I'm loving that I have been in London for 6 months! It's so hilarious looking at the airport wait that I had and what I was doing on the day I left.

I'm loving this song (if you ever get the chance to see Luke Thompson live, please go. He's amazing)

I'm loving the weird fog we had last Sunday. The picture doesn't do it justice, it's not sun strike, you actually can't see.

I'm loving these hair straightners that have the same name as me (even if it is spelt differently!)

I'm loving this pub that has mugs and ties hanging from it's roof. And also the most delicious French wine!

I'm loving Christmas lights

I'm loving my cousin and I's little trip to the M & M shop after being at the pub...

excuse the cheese...

I'm loving my new tea towel - I'm kinda tempted to put it on my wall, not in the kitchen.

And if you're up for a bit of an immature giggle - watch this. I think it's hilarious, you can be the judge. You don't need to watch it right until the end, you'll know what to stop it!

Things I'm Loving!

This week I'm loving.....

This video clip. It has 288000 jelly beans in it!

I'm loving that this is my 99th post! Weeeee! Where has the blogging time gone? I would do a give away but I know the two people who are doing to comment!

I'm loving the post I got in the mail from my Nanna and Grandad.

I'm loving my new duvet cover which coincidentally matches my pj bottoms!

I'm loving autumn. The leaves are everywhere and are amazing!

I'm loving egg moments that have been happening lately. The latest one is when my blind wasn't straight at the bottom so I went to pull it down, and what do you know? It falls down and whacks me in the head. So I got a chair and put it back up and pulled on the blind again, which resulted in the blind falling down again and breaking the brackets. Egg fail.

Sorry for the crappy photos - I have no energy to edit them!

Egg moments

Lately I've been having some real 'egg' moments.

I made my bed the other night with clean sheets. I was wondering why the top sheet wasn't fitting the width of my bed. It confused me until last night when I realised that I had bought a single top sheet for a double bed. Egg fail.

I woke up this morning with a song from work stuck in my head. It actually goes "Every week has 7 days, 7 days, 7 days, every week has 7 days, can you name them?" (it's to the tune of London Bridge is falling down). When I realised what was actually being said in my head it sounded like this "Every day has 7 weeks, 7 weeks, 7 weeks. Every day has 7 weeks, can you name them?". Ah I'm sorry brain, but why on earth would it be ok to have a day with 7 weeks? Yikes!  Egg fail.

Yesterday I was at work talking in the classroom door to my TA whilst outside. When I finished my conversation, I turned to walk away and rolled my ankle on the concrete ramp and tore my ligaments again. Yes you heard right, again. the 3rd time in as many months. Egg fail.

Can you tell which is the fat one??
It got me thinking, that my life is full of egg moments. When that song "My milkshake brings all the boys to the yard" by Kelis came out, I thought it was "My milkshake brings all the boys to the yard...Damn right it's better than yours, I could teach you but I'd have to do chores". It wasn't until my best friend enlightened me that the lyrics are actually "I could teach you but I'd have to charge". Egg fail.

When I first arrived in London, I met up with 2 of my friends for lunch and we went for a walk down 'The Mall'. My friend Nat was telling be about how Obama had been earlier on in that week and the UK and USA flags were up and how we should see if they still were. The whole time she was telling that story (which coincidentally had been the same week that Osama had died) I was thinking, why would they bring Osama's body to the UK let alone to London to parade down The Mall, wasn't he a baddie? Then the penny dropped. Egg fail.

Have you had any egg moments lately?

Things I'm Loving!

This week I'm loving...

This song!

Cheap dvds!

My new room! I have a gorgeous fire place!!

The love hate relationship between Tallulah and Leo.

How much Tallulah cries at the window when she's been out all day. (yes, I did stop and take a photo before I let her in!)

And how much attention she wants as soon as you get home. She'll do anything to have human contact!

This choice bike bell that I saw outside my work! If I had a bike, I'd want one like this!
